Turkish ground handler Çelebi has implemented CHAMP A2Z Scan to automate the conversion of paper air waybills and cargo documents into digital formats as part of its efforts to improve operational processes. The implementation was announced on January 29 in Luxembourg.

CHAMP A2Z Scan is an AI-based application designed to reduce the time required for manual data entry and document comparison. Through the deployment of the tool, Çelebi has reduced processing time from around three minutes to 45 seconds. The system automatically captures data and integrates it into the company’s cargo management platform, including its independent systems.

The company said the adoption of the solution has led to improvements in workflow efficiency, time savings and a reduction in errors associated with manual, paper-based handling. Çelebi identified the need to automate document processing and selected CHAMP A2Z Scan following a market assessment of available solutions.

CHAMP and Çelebi worked together during the implementation phase to train staff and align the application with operational requirements. The collaboration focused on enabling effective use of AI technology while ensuring the solution met the needs of end users across operations.

Ahmet Balakci, IT Manager from Çelebi, said, “We are excited by the impressive results we are seeing through CHAMP A2Z Scan and the operational efficiencies we have unlocked by leveraging intelligent technology. It has been a pleasure working alongside CHAMP to explore the possibilities CHAMP A2Z Scan holds for our operations, and we look forward to continued digitalisation and optimisation.”

Lucas Fernandez, VP of Innovation and Insight from CHAMP, said, “I’ve thoroughly enjoyed working alongside Çelebi to implement CHAMP A2Z Scan in their operations. It’s fantastic to see their enthusiasm and commitment to digitalisation and their impressive results in leveraging the tool. I look forward to seeing their continued success using innovative software solutions.”
