Awery appoints Cornelia Korsch as Global Development Director

Awery Aviation Software (Awery) has appointed air cargo industry specialist Cornelia Korsch as Global Development Director for both Awery and CargoBooking, its digital quoting and booking platform.

In her new role, Korsch will focus on expanding airline capacity on CargoBooking while driving platform adoption across the international freight forwarding community.

Korsch brings over 30 years of air freight experience across airline sales, logistics technology, and commercial development. Her background includes senior partnership positions at WebCargo by Freightos and AirBridgeCargo Airlines, alongside more than two decades at Cargolux Airlines.

Commenting on her appointment, Korsch highlighted CargoBooking's AI-driven capabilities: "CargoBooking combines smart, AI-powered tools with a simple and efficient booking experience, making it easier for airlines to put their capacity in front of forwarders and for forwarders to find and book the capacity they need."

She added that she looks forward to using her experience across airline operations and logistics technology to help the sector reach more customers and capitalise on digital distribution.

Vitaly Smilianets, Founder and Chief Executive Officer at Awery, noted that the appointment comes during a key growth phase for the digital platform. "Cornelia understands what airlines need from a digital booking platform, and that insight will be invaluable as we bring more carriers onto CargoBooking, giving forwarders greater choice and access to more capacity," he said.

The recruitment follows Awery's recent appointment of Gianluca Marcangelo as Executive Vice President of Global Sales, strengthening the company's executive leadership team as it accelerates global expansion.

Both Smilianets and Marcangelo will represent Awery at the EU Cross Border E-commerce Forum in Liège, Belgium, taking place from 8–10 September 2026.
