Delta Cargo has completed the implementation of IBS Software’s full iCargo platform, replacing a legacy system used for nearly 30 years. The transition marks a major step in the carrier’s digital plans and covers operations at 252 cargo stations worldwide. More than 6,500 users have moved to the new system, which is designed to support Delta Cargo’s international activities.

The airline moved more than 11 million shipments in 2024. The adoption of iCargo is expected to help the carrier improve operations, strengthen collaboration and enhance customer experience. The platform brings standardised processes and automation tools to global teams and supports real-time data flows with partners.

Delta Cargo expects the modern system to reduce errors, improve turnaround times and merge multiple functions for cost efficiency. The iCargo deployment covers terminal operations, truck dock management, customs and security processes, and handling for premium shipments.

Vishal Bhatnagar, Managing Director of Cargo Operations at Delta Cargo, said, “Partnering with IBS Software is an important step toward making it easier for customers to do business with Delta Cargo. Implementing iCargo gives us the foundation to improve speed, reliability, and transparency in our operations, while equipping our teams with modern tools to better serve our customers.”

Radhesh Menon, Vice President and Head of Strategy and Product Management for Cargo and Logistics Solutions at IBS Software, said: “Organising a complex migration like this across multiple phases, regions and stations was a great process for our team, and I am delighted to see the successful deployment of iCargo with a digitally innovative partner like Delta Cargo. Delta Cargo’s strategic transformation journey, powered by iCargo, will become foundational to the adoption of paperless, digital tools and accelerate business transformation through cutting-edge tech like data analytics and AI.”

IBS Software said the project strengthens its role in digital air cargo systems and supports its growth in the Americas.
