Cross-border logistics provider ePost Global has significantly expanded its processing infrastructure near Chicago O’Hare International Airport, tripling its footprint in the region as international shipping and e-commerce volumes continue to experience sustained growth.

The newly expanded site now stands as ePost Global’s largest facility in the United States for processing both cross-border e-commerce parcels and international mail. The strategic investment equips the business with enhanced capacity to manage an expanding customer base, a broader spectrum of shipment profiles, and escalating throughput across international trade lanes. Furthermore, the increased operational footprint provides vital network resilience and operational flexibility to scale activities seamlessly during peak demand periods and unforeseen global supply chain disruptions.

The move comes at a crucial juncture as ePost Global prepares for what it projects will be its busiest peak season to date. Driven by consistent growth in client acquisition and parcel traffic, the logistics company’s previous facility in the Chicago metropolitan area had reached maximum operational capacity, necessitating a transition to a significantly larger and technologically advanced facility designed to eliminate volume ceilings for its clients.

“Chicago has become our highest-volume U.S. operation, and we reached the point where demand was outgrowing the space,” said Kelly Martinez, Co-President of ePost Global. “Coming off a record year, we’re on track for another record peak season for ePost Global. This gives us the capacity to innovate, scale our operations, and deliver the flexibility and reliability our customers need.”

To streamline international distribution, the expanded hub incorporates state-of-the-art facility automation, including high-speed automated sortation, advanced optical character recognition, optical scanning and tracking systems, and piece-to-container verification. These integrated technological capabilities identify handling exceptions in real time, improve sorting precision, and minimise manual interventions and repetitive scanning. Consequently, a higher proportion of shipments move directly from initial induction into outbound destination containers destined for key international hubs worldwide.

“When ecommerce brands and retailers are growing, their shipping partner needs to be ready to grow with them,” said Fabrizio Alvear, Co-Founder and Co-President of ePost Global. “We are investing ahead of demand so we can accept more volume without imposing artificial limits when capacity matters most. This facility gives us room to serve customers through the coming peak season and continue scaling well beyond it.”

This expansion represents the latest milestone in ePost Global’s multi-year investment strategy aimed at enhancing facility automation, digital capabilities, shipment visibility, and cross-border returns management. By integrating customer, operational, and carrier data across every stage of the parcel journey, the logistics provider continues to build an agile network capable of adapting to shifting international market conditions.

The enhanced Chicago facility also complements ePost Global's established relationships with postal operators, commercial air carriers, and global airline partners, providing robust air cargo capacity assurance and routing flexibility across key global trade corridors.
