Air China Cargo has expanded its freighter fleet with the addition of a Boeing 777F, with aircraft B-229D joining the carrier on 1 October 2026.

The aircraft was delivered on China’s 77th National Day and becomes the 14th Boeing 777F in Air China Cargo’s fleet. The latest addition strengthens the carrier’s widebody freighter capacity as it continues to support its international cargo network.

Air China Cargo currently operates 24 freighter aircraft, comprising eight Airbus A330s, two Boeing 747s and 14 Boeing 777s. The carrier’s active fleet has an average age of 12.6 years. Its historical fleet includes 18 additional aircraft, taking the total number of aircraft operated by the carrier across current and past fleets to 42. These include 13 Boeing 747s, four Boeing 757s, and one Tupolev Tu-204, alongside the aircraft currently in service.

The carrier is also preparing to expand its next-generation freighter fleet, having placed an order for 10 Airbus A350Fs. The order comprises six aircraft announced in November 2025 and four additional aircraft ordered in May 2026. The A350Fs are expected to complement the existing A330-200P2F fleet and support the carrier’s long-haul and medium-to-long-haul cargo operations.
