DP World has secured International Air Transport Association (IATA) certification for its air freight forwarding operations across the US and Mexico, covering 11 locations in the two countries.

The certification covers freight forwarding operations in Atlanta, Chicago, Detroit, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Newark and El Paso in the US, along with Mexico City and Monterrey in Mexico. Together, the locations form an air freight network across two of North America's major trading markets.

IATA certification recognises freight forwarders that meet international standards for operational performance, financial accountability and professional competence. It also allows DP World to work more directly with airline partners and support cargo movements for time-sensitive shipments.

Joseph Fordney, Senior Vice President of Freight Forwarding for DP World in the Americas, said the certification would strengthen the company's integrated logistics offering and its ability to provide air, ocean and inland transportation services through a single logistics partner.

The certification is part of DP World's strategy to provide end-to-end supply chain solutions across the Americas. Its certified air freight network is supported by ocean freight, customs brokerage, warehousing, trucking and contract logistics services.

DP World has also established dedicated Air Freight Directors in the US, Canada and Mexico to support regional leadership and customers. The company expects its Montreal freight forwarding operation to achieve IATA certification in 2027.
