DHL, the Official Logistics Partner of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), is marking a major milestone with the delivery of the championship’s 100th race at Fuji Speedway, Japan, taking place from September 26–28, 2025. Since 2012, DHL has been the driving force behind the global logistics of one of motorsport’s most demanding series, ensuring every car, tire, and piece of infrastructure reaches the track on time.

Over the past 13 years, DHL has transported more than 45,000 metric tonnes of equipment, the equivalent of 10,000 adult elephants. This includes 500 race cars, 500,000 racing tires, and 1.5 million liters of fuel. The sheer scale of the operation underscores the logistics expertise required to keep WEC running seamlessly across continents.

“Our 13-year partnership with FIA WEC is built on shared values of precision, performance, sustainability, and global excellence. Together, we continue to push boundaries in motorsports logistics while championing innovation and responsibility,” said Carlos Fernandes, Head of Motorsports Germany at DHL Global Forwarding. “DHL ensures reliable, efficient transport across continents, showcasing our global capabilities and commitment to sustainable logistics.”

Frédéric Lequien, CEO of the FIA World Endurance Championship, added: “DHL has been a loyal and long-standing partner to FIA WEC from the start, reliably transporting cars, equipment, and infrastructure around the globe to keep the show seamlessly on the road. As a brand that shares our commitment to sustainable solutions, there are many common synergies. We look forward to celebrating FIA WEC’s 100th race together in Japan, and to the next 100 races to come!”

Sustainability has become a central element of DHL’s logistics operations for WEC. The company prioritizes ocean freight over air to minimize emissions, while also using sustainable maritime fuels. In Europe, its fleet of Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO)-powered trucks further reduces environmental impact. A dedicated team of six motorsports logistics specialists handles customs processes and coordinates multimodal transport, ensuring reliability while advancing decarbonization goals.

The 6 Hours of Fuji, first run in 1967 and a staple of the WEC calendar since 2012, takes on special significance this year as the 100th championship race. Against the backdrop of Mount Fuji, the event reflects WEC’s global expansion into a premier stage for hybrid and hypercar technologies. The series now spans eight races across four continents, with record-breaking attendance, including 332,000 fans at the 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans.

DHL’s motorsports presence extends beyond WEC. The logistics leader is also the Official Logistics Partner of Formula 1, Formula E, MotoGP, and the FIA, cementing its role as a global powerhouse in motorsports logistics.
