Yusen Logistics has partnered with cargo.one to strengthen its global air freight sales and procurement operations by deploying cargo.one’s AI-powered operating system across its pricing, quoting, booking and rate management functions, including inter-branch transactions.

The partnership will see Yusen Logistics roll out cargo.one’s AI-powered platform across its global air freight pricing and procurement operations. The platform is designed to support rate procurement and management, quoting and booking functions while helping standardise operations across regions.

As air freight procurement becomes more complex, Yusen Logistics is using cargo.one’s AI-native platform to manage air cargo capacity globally through one system. The platform allows teams to compare live, static, contract and consolidation rates, along with local and trucking charges, in a single place. According to the companies, this is expected to support faster quoting, more competitive pricing and better data-driven decision-making across regions. Integration with Yusen Logistics’ Transport Management System (TMS) is also planned to improve operational efficiency.

Eisuke Fukagawa, Head of Air Freight Forwarding Unit at Yusen Logistics Global Management Co. Ltd., said implementing cargo.one’s AI-powered operating system marks an important step in the company’s pricing digitalisation and procurement modernisation efforts. He said the technology strengthens how Yusen Logistics manages air freight capacity globally and supports its long-term strategic goals.

Moritz Claussen, Founder and Co-CEO of cargo.one, said the partnership will help Yusen Logistics maintain stronger procurement and sales infrastructure for its global operations through cargo.one’s AI-native operating system. He added that access to market data and technology will support Yusen Logistics in scaling its capabilities and resources.

The partnership also includes a managed global network built for Yusen Logistics’ business requirements. More than 100 Yusen Logistics branches worldwide now have real-time access to rates and service options across the company’s network, with the aim of improving visibility, consistency and coordination across regions. The companies said the infrastructure has been developed to improve service options and the quoting experience for customers.

Through the partnership, Yusen Logistics will establish a central source for rate information to support both operational teams and future AI-driven processes, including automated quoting, booking, sales and support functions. cargo.one will also support Yusen Logistics in maintaining industry standards related to rate reliability, data quality and availability as both companies continue to work together on pricing and procurement improvements.
