DHL Supply Chain and iglo have extended their exclusive logistics partnership, continuing their long-standing collaboration to further optimise logistics processes, improve efficiency and flexibility, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
The two companies have been working together for more than 25 years, with the partnership evolving from a regional distribution model into a comprehensive end-to-end logistics network.
Since 2021, DHL has exclusively managed on-site logistics at iglo’s central frozen food warehouse in Reken, which serves as the main distribution hub for most of iglo’s products in Germany.
DHL said it will continue to focus on ensuring reliable and high-quality delivery of frozen products to retailers, while continuously improving processes to make operations more efficient and sustainable.
As part of the partnership, the company is using lower-emission transport technologies, including electric trailers, alternative drive systems, and trucks powered by liquefied petroleum gas and HVO100 biodiesel, to reduce carbon emissions.
Iglo said extending the collaboration is a natural next step, as both companies aim to further develop logistics processes and make them future-ready.
The continued partnership is expected to strengthen supply security for the food retail sector while supporting a more sustainable frozen food supply for consumers across Germany.
