AerCap Holdings has signed lease agreements with China Southern Airlines Cargo for three Boeing 777-300ERSF converted freighter aircraft, further strengthening the carrier's long-haul cargo fleet.

The Boeing 777-300ERSF, also known as the "Big Twin", is the first passenger-to-freighter conversion programme developed for the Boeing 777-300ER, offering increased cargo capacity and improved operational efficiency for air freight operators.

Under the agreement, the first aircraft is scheduled for delivery in October 2027, while the second and third freighters are expected to be delivered during the first and second quarters of 2028, respectively.

The addition of the converted freighters will support China Southern Airlines Cargo's fleet expansion strategy while reinforcing AerCap's position in the growing market for next-generation passenger-to-freighter aircraft.

Aengus Kelly, Chief Executive Officer of AerCap, said, “Through this important transaction, China Southern Airlines Cargo will add three B777-300ERSF aircraft to its fleet, offering an exceptional combination of range, payload capability and efficiency, powered by the proven GE90 platform. The aircraft will integrate seamlessly into China Southern Air Logistics' existing B777 fleet. We extend our sincere thanks to the teams at China Southern Airlines, China Southern Air Logistics and China Southern Airlines Cargo for their trust and partnership, and look forward to supporting their continued expansion."

Li Xiao, Chairman of CSA Logistics, said the agreement further strengthens the company's long-standing partnership with AerCap. He described the introduction of the Boeing 777-300ERSF converted freighters as a major milestone in the continued evolution of CSA Logistics' fleet, adding that the aircraft would support the company's strategy to expand its intercontinental network and enhance the services it provides to customers worldwide.
