China Airlines Cargo adds new B777F, bringing total to 10 aircraft

The Taiwanese cargo carrier also operates 8 Boeing 747 freighters.;

The cargo arm of Taiwanese flag carrier China Airlines, China Airlines Cargo, has added a new Boeing 777 freighter to its fleet.

The aircraft, registered as B-18779, MSN 68060, age 0.1 years, was ferried from Paine Field (PAE) to Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) between May 16 and 17, 2025.

It landed at Taipei Airport around 7:30 p.m. on May 17, 2025, according to data from Flightradar24.

The addition of this Boeing 777 freighter brings the total number of Boeing 777 freighters in the China Airlines Cargo fleet to 10. The cargo carrier also operates Boeing 747 freighters, with 8 aircraft currently in service, according to data from Planespotters.net.

While it also utilises the belly cargo space of the main carrier China Airlines, which operates a diverse fleet of 67 aircraft, including Airbus A321neos, Airbus A330-300s, Airbus A350-900s, Boeing 737-800s, and Boeing 777-300ERs.

China Airlines Cargo recently placed a formal order for four Boeing 777-8Fs, the next-generation Boeing freighters. In addition to these four confirmed Boeing 777-8Fs, the airline has the option to purchase four more.

Additionally, China Airlines has ordered 10 Boeing 777-9 aircraft, with the option to purchase five more. This comes after China Airlines announced in December 2024 its plans to order ten B777-9 passenger aircraft and four B777-8F freighters.

The carrier has also placed an order for 10 Airbus A350-1000s and already holds an order for 18 Boeing 787-9s and 6 Boeing 787-10s.

China Airlines Cargo serves a wide network of cargo destinations, including major hubs in East Asia, Southeast Asia, Northeast Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and North America.

These destinations include Nagoya, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Taipei, Mumbai, Amsterdam, Osaka, Chicago, Anchorage, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Dubai (DWC), Frankfurt, Seattle, Miami, and Atlanta.
