AerCap leases two Boeing 777 freighters to Turkish Airlines
Two Boeing 777-300ERSF converted freighters will join Turkish Airlines’ fleet in 2027, with conversion work taking place at Etihad Engineering’s Abu Dhabi facility to expand cargo capacity
AerCap Holdings has signed lease agreements with Turkish Airlines for two Boeing 777-300ERSF converted freighter aircraft, with deliveries scheduled between March and September 2027.
The aircraft will undergo conversion at Etihad Engineering’s maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facility in Abu Dhabi, enabling AerCap to serve customers more efficiently across the wider Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region.
Peter Anderson, Chief Commercial Officer, AerCap, said, “"We are delighted to continue supporting our long-standing partner, Turkish Airlines, with the addition of two Boeing 777-300ERSF aircraft to its fleet. These aircraft will provide Turkish Airlines with additional cargo capacity, combined with the outstanding performance capabilities of the 777-300ERSF.”
He added, “The dedicated 777-300ERSF conversion facility at Etihad Engineering's MRO hub in Abu Dhabi provides an important regional platform capability, enabling the aircraft to be converted in the Middle East ahead of delivery to Turkish Airlines. We thank Turkish Airlines for their enduring partnership and Etihad Engineering for their ongoing commitment to the program."
Since delivering its first Boeing 777-300ERSF converted freighter to launch customer Kalitta Air in September 2025, AerCap has continued to expand the programme. The company has since delivered aircraft to Fly Meta and signed lease agreements with Ethiopian Airlines and China Southern Group.
