ACS transports 51 tonnes of food seasoning from Mexico to Nicaragua

Air Charter Service arranged a cargo charter to transport seasoning from Mexico to Nicaragua after a manufacturer faced a production halt at its facility in Managua. The company sourced an Airbus A330-200F freighter to move the shipment following an initial request for a next-flight-out solution.
The charter was organised after the client sought to move around 18 tonnes of condiments used at a meat products manufacturing plant in Managua. Following discussions on the risk of a production stoppage, Air Charter Service proposed a full charter option to move a larger load in a single movement due to limited scheduled connectivity between Mexico and Nicaragua.
Luis Canales-Tough of Air Charter Service said, "The client originally approached us for our next flight out (NFO) service to move around 18 tonnes of the condiment, used at a meat products manufacturing plant in Managua, to avoid the production line shutting down. After discussing the potential closure with the customer, we advised that, due to the infrequency of scheduled flights from Mexico to Nicaragua, a charter carrying 51 tonnes on one flight could be a better solution and would still get there in time, which they agreed to."
The company coordinated with the airline and authorities in Nicaragua to secure permits for the operation. It obtained a letter of urgency from the consignee to expedite approvals and supported the client with customs procedures, as it was their first charter movement.
Canales-Tough added: “We worked closely with the airline and the national authorities in Nicaragua to obtain the necessary permits and were able to accelerate the process by getting a letter of urgency from the consignee. The customer had no prior experience with chartering, so we guided them through the correct customs procedures to ensure a smooth operation. To ensure the operation proceeded smoothly, we offered to accompany the shipment to Managua. The cargo arrived in time to stop the factory in Nicaragua from having to shut down its production line.”
The charter moved a total of 51 tonnes of cargo on a single flight into Managua, ensuring continuity of operations at the plant. Air Charter Service said it arranged the movement through coordination across its network and engagement with stakeholders involved in the shipment.
