CMA CGM completes $1.4bn FedEx Supply Chain acquisition
Announced on July 1, CMA CGM’s acquisition of FedEx Supply Chain was completed on October 1, expanding CEVA’s North American logistics footprint.

CMA CGM has completed its $1.4 billion acquisition of FedEx Supply Chain, expanding CEVA Logistics’ North American contract logistics footprint and adding 34mn sq ft of warehouse space.
The CMA CGM Group announced the transaction on July 1, 2026, and completed the acquisition of FedEx Supply Chain from FedEx Corp. on October 1 at an enterprise value of $1.4 billion. The deal expands the North American contract logistics operations of CMA CGM’s logistics subsidiary, CEVA Logistics.
The acquisition adds nearly 10,000 team members and approximately 34mn sq ft of warehouse space. The combined business operates around 150 warehouses, taking CEVA’s presence in North America to more than 240 locations and a workforce of approximately 20,000.
The deal nearly triples CEVA’s North American logistics footprint and strengthens its capabilities across healthcare, technology, consumer and retail supply chains, according to CMA CGM. The integration will also bring together FedEx Supply Chain’s digital and operational capabilities with CEVA’s network, accelerating the use of automation and robotics.
For FedEx, the sale is part of its ongoing portfolio simplification and strategic transformation, allowing the company to sharpen its focus on its core strengths and concentrate resources on areas where it sees opportunities to create long-term value.
“Today’s milestone demonstrates the continued progress we are making to execute our strategy with rigour and discipline,” said Raj Subramaniam, President and Chief Executive Officer of FedEx. “We are building a more focused FedEx, centred on the differentiated capabilities that have made our unparalleled network essential to global commerce. As we continue to strengthen our core transportation network and deepen our reach across high-value verticals, FedEx is simultaneously creating value for our customers and stockholders.”
Subramaniam added, “I want to thank our FedEx Supply Chain team members for their many contributions to FedEx and our customers over the years. We wish them success as they begin their next chapter with CEVA Logistics, and we look forward to continuing our relationship with CMA CGM.”
The acquisition is part of CMA CGM’s broader acquisition-led strategy to diversify the group beyond container shipping into logistics, air freight and media. US expansion has also been a priority for CMA CGM Chief Executive Rodolphe Saadé, who pledged a $20 billion investment over four years during an Oval Office meeting with US President Donald Trump in 2025.
For FedEx, offloading the unit follows the spin-off of FedEx Freight as a standalone public company and enables the company to focus on its core air-ground delivery business. FedEx Supply Chain traces its origins to FedEx’s $1.4 billion acquisition of Genco Distribution System, completed in January 2015. The deal, first announced in December 2014, brought one of North America’s largest third-party logistics providers into the FedEx fold, then led by Genco CEO Todd R. Peters and folded into the FedEx Ground reporting segment.
Alongside the acquisition, CMA CGM and FedEx have entered into multi-year commercial agreements covering air and ocean freight. Under a non-exclusive agreement, CMA CGM will become a preferred ocean carrier for FedEx, providing transport and carrier services. The companies also plan an air cargo capacity agreement on key routes, including Asia-Europe. The agreement is intended to strengthen their networks, improve aircraft utilisation and provide greater flexibility on long-haul routes, while reinforcing CMA CGM’s integrated air, ocean and land logistics capabilities.
The Chairman and CEO of the CMA CGM Group also said the acquisition strengthens the company’s ability to provide end-to-end supply chain solutions across ocean, air, land and logistics, while reinforcing its long-term investment in the US.
