Sep 19, 2019: In addition to renewal of contract with helicopter manufacturer Helibras in Brazil, CEVA Logistics extends another contract this week.

Milan-headquartered Messaggerie Libri (Me.Li), the country's leading distributor of editorial products, sign contract extension with CEVA until the end of December 2021. The new contract also includes provision to negotiate a further long-term deal.

CEVA’S City of Books itself is a unique, green supply chain facility dedicated to the publishing sector. This platform was launched in the year 2010.

Covering more than 80,000 square metre, it can handle over 90 million books per annum. The site includes a photovoltaic plant with over 35,000 modules, covering an area of 6,500 square metre. This translates into 3,780 MWh annually, the equivalent to energy generated in 2,000 homes, saving on average of 1.6 million kg of CO2 emissions.

More than 600 publishing brands partner with Me.Li which has over 4,000 nationwide bookshops and stationery stores.

“Throughout our two decade long relationship with Me.Li we have sought to continuously innovate our contract logistics services in this highly specialist market,” said Christophe Boustouller, managing director Italy, CEVA Logistics.

The first contract between the two companies was signed in 1999.
