Kuehne+Nagel has appointed Yutaka Matsuyoshi as Managing Director for Japan, effective August 1, 2024.

His predecessor, Cedric Dulong, will now focus on the company's Japan development programme, which aims to bolster Japan’s role in international commerce, says an official release.

With 25 years of experience in the supply chain and logistics industry, Matsuyoshi brings extensive expertise to his new role, the release added. “His career has taken him across multiple regions including Japan, the U.K., Hong Kong, China, and Switzerland, where he has led various logistics transformation projects for diverse industries. Before joining Kuehne+Nagel, Matsuyoshi spent nine years overseeing global logistics at adidas. In 2022, he transitioned to Kuehne+Nagel’s Group headquarters in Switzerland as Global Head of Operations for the international Supply Chain. Over the past two years, he has successfully directed complex order management solutions with a strong emphasis on digitisation.”

Matsuyoshi says: “I am delighted to have the opportunity to lead our Japanese organisation and its skilled teams. Together, we will put a focus on better understanding the challenges our Japanese customers face today, especially in these volatile times. This will help us to further enhance our offerings with an emphasis on customer needs. I look forward to leveraging my experience to its fullest extent to ensure we build long-term partnerships with our customers in Japan.

In line with its Roadmap 2026, Japan is part of Kuehne+Nagel’s strategic growth markets. The Japan development programme will focus on driving business growth among Japanese corporations, both within Japan and internationally, the release added.

To strengthen its partnerships with Japanese customers, Kuehne+Nagel has also appointed Mitsuhiro Inaba as Director, Sales and Marketing, Japan, effective August 1, and Kenzo Yamada as Director, Air Logistics Japan, effective September 1.
