Oman Air launches five new routes, expanding global cargo network

In a major strategic development for regional and international freight, Oman Air has launched five new routes within a single week. The rapid expansion substantially enhances the transport network available to Oman Air Cargo customers, while significantly strengthening the airline's market position across key trade gateways in Asia.

Utilising modern B737 Max8 aircraft, the network additions introduce vital direct services from the carrier's hub in Muscat to Singapore (SIN) and Tashkent (TAS). To further optimise trade pathways across the region, the expansion also encompasses new regular routes to Sochi (AER), Abu Dhabi (AUH), and a new regional freight link connecting Salalah (SLL) directly to Dubai (DXB).

"The five new destinations strengthen the options available to our cargo customers, providing greater connectivity across Asia while supporting the efficient movement of time-sensitive and high-value shipments," said Michael Duggan, Head of Cargo, Oman Air.

The fleet expansion and enhanced frequency come at a time when demand for specialised logistics capabilities is rising globally. In particular, the airline is focussing on strengthening its cold chain operations to serve agricultural and food sectors effectively.

"We are particularly pleased the additions further expand Oman Air Cargo’s perishables capability, a key objective of the airline in response to our expanding customer base."

A major highlight of the schedule is the new Muscat-Tashkent route, operating twice weekly. This connection delivers critical direct capacity between Oman and Uzbekistan's capital, opening up one of Central Asia's fastest-growing logistics markets. The new airlift capacity is anticipated to drive a significant increase in trade involving perishables and various other time-critical commodities between the two nations.

Furthermore, the introduction of the Muscat-Singapore link broadens Oman Air Cargo's presence in one of Asia's largest, most dynamic air cargo hubs. Operating four times every week, the service offers freight forwarders and cargo partners improved, direct access to high-demand Southeast Asian markets alongside smooth onward global connections.

Addressing the continuous development of trade relations between Oman and the wider Asian continent, Duggan emphasised: "As trade between Oman and Asia continues to grow, expanding our network enables us to offer customers greater flexibility, improved market access, and more efficient routing options,"

The complete frequency breakdown for the newly introduced operations is structured as follows: Singapore (SIN) receives four weekly flights; Sochi (AER) is served by one weekly flight; Tashkent (TAS) features two weekly flights; the Dubai (DXB) to Salalah (SLL) route runs three times weekly; and Abu Dhabi (AUH) is supported by daily flight operations.

Together, these five additions solidify Oman Air Cargo's capacity to deliver flexible, efficient, and reliable air freight options, supporting commercial trade flows and meeting the needs of a growing international client base.
