It’s no secret that artificial intelligence (AI) is the latest technology that has the world talking. The application for AI goes well beyond summarizing long articles and generating email templates — for supply chain professionals, AI has the potential to interpret massive amounts of customer data, improve inventory management and track products from manufacturer to warehouse. In fact, the opportunities for AI’s use are so varied, it would take an expert to know each one. Fortunately, experts are available in spades at ASCM CONNECT 2024: North America. The annual event, held September 9-11 this year in Austin, Texas, features industry specialists, educational sessions, networking opportunities, local facility tours and more. And one topic that will be discussed at length is AI in the supply chain.

Keynote speaker David Edelman, a senior lecturer in marketing at Harvard Business School and a sought-after advisor on building digitally oriented, customer-centric enterprises, will teach conference attendees how to leverage AI to create a more successful customer experience. The utility of generative AI in supply chain management will be the subject of another educational session — topics in this lecture will include technical considerations for prompt engineering in logistics; prompt design, training and evaluation; the importance of data quality and preparation for effective prompt engineering; as well as benefits and risks of AI.

But AI isn’t the only technology that is revolutionizing supply chain: data analytics, internet of things and cloud-based computing will be matters of discussion, too, including how these tech advances are helping supply chain managers achieve visibility, synchronization and best-in-class digital maturity. Conference attendees can learn more about these topics, as well as forward-looking trends in stability, resilience, circularity, sustainability and agility, in the Innovation Hub, the exhibit hall-turned-interactive showcase. In the Hub, there will be educational opportunities on three stages, hands-on exhibits and solutions providers, an F1 simulator, Meet Ups, roundtable discussions — and for a little fun, supply chain gamers challenges.

With 100+ educational sessions, 150+ expert speakers, and prime networking opportunities, ASCM CONNECT 2024: North America is your platform to build community and advance your supply chain career.
