SF Airlines starts Shanghai-Singapore freighter service
The new service will support Singapore’s development as SF Group’s first overseas hub and strengthen air cargo links across Asia Pacific.
SF Airlines has launched an inaugural Boeing 767 freighter service between Shanghai and Singapore as SF Group develops Singapore as its first overseas hub serving Southeast Asia, South Asia and Oceania.
The new service will strengthen air cargo connectivity between Singapore and China, its largest air cargo market, while supporting the movement of high-tech cargo between the two countries.
The service is part of SF Group’s five-year cooperation with Changi Airport Group (CAG), signed in April 2026, to develop Changi Airport as its first overseas hub. Under the agreement, Changi will support SF’s network expansion across Southeast Asia, South Asia and Oceania.
SF Group said Singapore is an important part of its global expansion strategy. The partnership with CAG is intended to strengthen logistics flows across Asia Pacific and beyond, while improving connectivity with markets across the three regions.
SF Airlines has been operating services to Singapore since 2018, when it launched its first flight to Changi from Shenzhen using a Boeing 767 freighter. The airline has since continued to build its international cargo network.
In March 2025, SF Airlines launched a weekly Boeing 767-300 freighter service between Ezhou Huahu International Airport and Bengaluru. The service created a direct cargo link between China and India, with Worldwide Flight Services handling cargo and ground operations in Bengaluru.
Ezhou is also an important base for SF Airlines’ cargo operations. In August 2025, ST Engineering and SF Airlines inaugurated an airframe maintenance, repair and overhaul facility at Ezhou Huahu International Airport. The facility was developed through their joint venture, ST Engineering Aerospace (Hubei) Aviation Services.
The Ezhou facility initially has two hangars and is designed to provide line and heavy maintenance services for cargo and passenger aircraft. The two hangars will be able to accommodate up to four widebody or eight narrowbody aircraft simultaneously when operational.
SF Airlines operates a large freighter network from China, including services to destinations in India and other markets in Asia. The airline's expansion in Singapore adds another link to its growing international cargo operations.
Changi Airport said it looks forward to deepening its partnership with SF Airlines and supporting the continued growth of its network through the airport.
