Hong Kong Air Cargo Industry Services Limited (Hacis), Hactl’s wholly-owned value-added services subsidiary, has strengthened its collaboration with global logistics and supply chain technology leader Flexport, elevating the relationship into a strategic partnership. The partnership aims to establish Hong Kong as a central transit hub for Flexport’s regional operations.
Hacis initially provided basic mail handling services to Flexport but gradually expanded its offerings to include Merge-in-Transit (MiT) solutions and Airport Direct import and export services. Today, the company offers a fully integrated, one-stop-shop suite of services that enables Flexport to route cargo efficiently through Hong Kong, providing scalability, operational control, and enhanced service reliability.
The MiT solution allows Hacis to consolidate shipments from multiple origins in Hong Kong under forwarder supervision before onward delivery. The Airport Direct service encompasses end-to-end operations, including cargo collection, documentation, on-airport storage, containerisation, and fulfilment, with facilities located immediately beside the apron at SuperTerminal 1 to ensure maximum speed and efficiency.
Ringo Chan, Executive Director of Hacis, said, “With our fully integrated, one-stop-shop service, we enable Flexport to route cargo via Hong Kong with greater reliability and efficiency. This partnership shows how Hacis adapts to the evolving needs of customers and supports their growth, while helping Hong Kong maintain its competitive edge in global air logistics.”
Daniel Sanvicente, Senior Vice President and Head of APAC at Flexport, added, “With its one-stop-shop approach and direct air-side access facility, partnering with Hacis enables Flexport to provide highly efficient, consolidated air services across a broad network. Utilizing Hong Kong’s strategic location as a key gateway for South China origin cargo, this collaboration enhances our connectivity and service offerings, supporting Flexport’s continued growth in South China and our expanding presence across Southeast Asia and beyond.”
As global supply chains evolve, Flexport continues to strengthen its APAC network, enhance air freight capabilities, and leverage Hong Kong’s strategic location as a transit hub for both regional and international trade. By deepening its collaboration with Hacis, Flexport reinforces its commitment to smoother logistics, faster transit, and greater flexibility for customers navigating complex supply chains.
