FedEx adds five weekly flights linking APAC and Europe
The new routes boost trade access for Asia Pacific businesses ahead of the festive season.;
FedEx has strengthened its Asia-Europe network by adding five weekly flights connecting Asia Pacific (APAC) to its European hub at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport. The new services aim to enhance reliability, speed, and flexibility for businesses expanding into European markets, particularly ahead of the year-end festive season.
Three of the new flights operate from the FedEx APAC Hub at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, while two depart from the FedEx Shanghai International Express and Cargo Hub. All routes use Boeing B777 freighters and connect directly to Paris Charles de Gaulle. With this addition, the company increases average daily capacity between APAC and Europe, helping businesses in key sectors such as e-commerce, manufacturing, hi-tech, and retail access growth opportunities.
According to the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the Europe–Asia trade lane has recorded 30 consecutive months of air freight volume growth, with a 13% year-on-year rise in August 2025. The European Union remains the largest import market for over 100 countries, while APAC economies continue to be among its fastest-growing suppliers.
Salil Chari, senior vice president, Marketing and Customer Experience, Asia Pacific, FedEx, said, “The Asia-Europe corridor is one of the highest growing trade lanes. In our survey of nearly 4,000 customers in Asia this year, over 20 percent said they plan to shift their trading focus to Europe over the next 12 months. We are adapting quickly and flexing our network to create a blueprint for the next wave of opportunity for Asia’s expanding trade ecosystem.”
With the latest expansion, FedEx now operates 26 weekly flights between APAC and Europe, enabling express deliveries to major European destinations within 48 hours. The company has also improved connectivity from Northern Vietnam to Europe, further supporting regional exporters and importers.
By leveraging its hubs in Paris, Cologne, and Liege, along with its new global air transit facility in Istanbul, FedEx continues to enhance resilience and efficiency across global supply chains. The latest expansion reflects the company’s commitment to supporting international commerce and enabling businesses in the Asia Pacific region to strengthen their presence in global trade.
