David Wystrach has taken over as Global Head of Air Freight at Dachser, marking a leadership change in the company’s air cargo operations. The appointment was announced by Wystrach in a public statement on LinkedIn, where he confirmed the start of his new role and outlined his focus on the company’s global air freight product.
In his new position, Wystrach is responsible for overseeing Dachser’s air freight strategy, including network development, carrier management and operational performance across trade lanes. It includes strengthening the company’s global air freight product and aligning it with broader supply chain requirements.
He effectively succeeds Timo Stroh, who led Dachser’s global airfreight operations for nearly a decade until February last year, with the role understood to have since been overseen on an interim basis.
Wystrach brings experience across procurement, trade lane management, operations and profit and loss ownership. His background includes a focus on carrier relationship management and managing traffic flows across regions, which are critical functions in air cargo.
Before joining Dachser, he served as Global Head of Airfreight at Scan Global Logistics, where he led the company’s air freight operations for five years. Prior to that, he was Senior Director Air Freight EMEA at Flexport, overseeing regional air cargo activities. He also spent over a decade at Panalpina, where he held the role of Air Freight Procurement Manager.
Wystrach indicated that reconnecting with industry stakeholders will be part of his priorities in the new role. The appointment comes as logistics companies continue to adjust air freight strategies in response to changing demand patterns, capacity dynamics and the need for visibility across supply chains.
