WestJet Cargo to launch Priority product for time-sensitive shipments

WestJet Cargo is set to launch its new Priority product, available across the WestJet Cargo network starting November 4, 2024.

The service will offer eligible cargo top priority for loading and transport, guaranteeing that shipments travel on specific flights, says an official release.

"Designed to meet the needs of industries requiring fast, reliable transportation of critical goods, such as healthcare and manufacturing, Priority features reduced tender cut-off times at WestJet Cargo's main hubs - Calgary, Vancouver and Toronto – with plans to expand to more hubs in the future. For narrowbody flights, the cut-off time is shortened to just two hours before departure instead of the usual three hours while widebody flights require three hours instead of the usual six hours. In the unlikely event that a Priority shipment does not fly as confirmed, the Priority charge will be fully refunded."

WestJet Cargo utilises the network of WestJet’s wide and narrow-bodied aircraft and its fleet of four dedicated Boeing 737-800 Converted Freighters (BCF), the release added.
