Frank Bauer, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Lufthansa Cargo, has become the newest member to join the board of Air Cargo Community Frankfurt. Bauer, who assumed the COO role on July 1, 2025, will represent Lufthansa Cargo on the association’s board.

Bauer has held several leadership positions within the Lufthansa Group, including roles on the management board of Eurowings and in controlling and risk management. Before becoming COO, Bauer was part of Lufthansa Cargo’s executive team since August 2023, serving as Chief Financial Officer, Chief Human Resources Officer, and Labour Director.

Commenting on his appointment, Bauer said he looks forward to shaping the future of the air cargo hub through innovation and collaboration. “I am very pleased to be able to actively help shape the future of Air Cargo Community Frankfurt as a new board member.” He added, “Frankfurt is one of the world’s most important air cargo hubs, and I am convinced that constructive collaboration within the community is a key driver for success and growth. It is particularly important to me to further advance FRA together through digitalisation and innovation. I look forward to constructive dialogue with the members and the ACCF board.”

Air Cargo Community Frankfurt, which brings together more than 100 member companies across the air freight value chain, plays a central role in developing processes and infrastructure at Frankfurt Airport. Its members include major industry players such as Lufthansa Cargo, DHL, Kuehne+Nagel, and Fraport, as well as other airlines, forwarders, and logistics service providers.

Frankfurt Airport remains one of Europe’s leading air cargo hubs, handling over two million tonnes of freight in 2024 and employing around 14,000 people in the cargo sector. The association’s cross-company expert groups focus on strengthening the airport’s competitiveness through joint projects, with an emphasis on digitalisation, sustainability, and operational efficiency.
