HKIA and Qatar Airways Cargo strengthen global connectivity

Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Qatar Airways Cargo to strengthen connectivity between Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) and the carrier’s global cargo network.

Qatar Airways Cargo currently operates around 56 weekly flights to and from HKIA, using both belly-hold and freighter capacity. As part of the partnership, the carrier has also relocated its regional office to Hong Kong.

Qatar Airways Cargo plans to expand its presence at HKIA by increasing flight frequencies and exploring new routes via Hong Kong, further strengthening the airport’s position as a leading global air cargo hub.

The agreement will also explore cooperation in operational excellence, service enhancement, sustainable development and talent development through programmes offered by the Hong Kong International Aviation Academy.

The MoU is expected to support greater connectivity across Qatar Airways Cargo’s worldwide network while enabling Hong Kong’s air cargo sector to tap into growing regional trade and logistics demand.

The MoU signed today is of strategic significance and will elevate the partnership between the two places to a new level.”
