FedEx has opened a new air and ground logistics centre at Tallinn Airport to support Estonian businesses in accessing global markets. The facility, which began operations on September 24, 2025, combines automated sorting systems with direct connections to FedEx’s global air network and road hub in Poland. The centre will enable faster shipment of parcels, linking Estonia to over 220 markets worldwide.
“Our latest investment strengthens Estonia’s position in global trade,” said Mariusz Mik, vice president of ground operations, Nordics and Eastern Europe, FedEx Europe. “By focusing on speed and efficiency, FedEx is not only supporting the country’s economy, like the growing e-commerce sector, but also empowering local entrepreneurs to reach customers in over 220 markets worldwide. This is how we connect Estonia’s culture of innovation with the globe.”
The facility is located on the southern side of the Airport City business complex and includes a warehouse capable of processing up to 3,000 parcels per hour, equipped with multi-sided scanning technology. FedEx aircraft will operate from the airport daily, connecting Tallinn to Paris Roissy-Charles-dae-Gaulle and other key international markets.
The centre also features 1,200 m² of office space and incorporates sustainable technologies such as a photovoltaic roof system, geothermal heating and cooling, motion-sensor lighting, and electric vehicle chargers.
Tõnu Väät, CEO of the Estonian E-Commerce Association, welcomed the investment, saying, “Any investment in Estonia by an international logistics partner—whether in sorting capacity, warehouse space, or transportation modes—definitely lays a foundation for export growth. That’s why we welcome the opening of the new FedEx logistics centre in Tallinn and hope that, in light of this recent development, we’ll also be able to offer Estonian e-merchants more competitive prices that support growth.”
FedEx has been present in Estonia since 1994 and delivers 17 million packages globally each day. The Tallinn facility is part of FedEx’s broader strategy to expand its operations in Central and Eastern Europe, building or upgrading 17 facilities in six countries.
