DSV expands Air ThermoDirect network
DSV has launched a direct Indianapolis-Luxembourg air freight service to enhance cold-chain logistics, providing faster transport for pharmaceutical shipments.
DSV has expanded its Air ThermoDirect network with the introduction of a new direct air freight route between Indianapolis and Luxembourg, called "Indy Wings," to enhance cold-chain connectivity for the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries.
The new service links two major pharmaceutical hubs and is aimed at supporting the growing demand for reliable, temperature-controlled transport solutions from one of the fastest-growing life sciences regions in the United States.
To mark the launch, DSV welcomed customers, partners, local officials, and industry stakeholders to Indianapolis International Airport on June 11 for an in-depth look at the evolving pharmaceutical supply chain. Visitors toured the dedicated aircraft and temperature-controlled healthcare facilities, demonstrating how the company maintains end-to-end accountability across critical logistics operations.
According to DSV, the direct connection will improve predictability and scalability across key trade lanes while reducing handling complexity and time spent in uncontrolled environments. These improvements are expected to enhance product integrity, increase operational reliability, lower costs, and reduce emissions.
Kenneth Kallstrom, EVP, Global Head of Healthcare, DSV, said, “The Indianapolis operations will play a pivotal role in enhancing end-to-end visibility and control across key pharma regions, helping ensure that life-saving therapies move with greater speed, reliability and integrity”.
The launch comes as the US Midwest continues to attract significant healthcare investments, with leading pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies driving demand for advanced cold-chain logistics solutions.
