CharterDesk completes first two cargo charter operations successfully

CharterDesk has completed its first two cargo charter operations since officially launching at the end of last month, responding to urgent logistics requirements for automotive and perishable cargo customers.

The first charter flight took place towards the end of June 2026 for a leading car manufacturer and an international integrator. CharterDesk arranged an Airbus A321 freighter from BBN Airlines Türkiye to operate a direct flight from Cairo (CAI) to Istanbul (IST), carrying 11 tonnes of automotive parts for a factory in Türkiye. Any delay to the shipment could have resulted in a temporary production stop. The company arranged all permits and handling operations with the operator, enabling the flight to depart within a day of receiving the request.

The second charter operation was carried out at the beginning of July 2026 for a Turkish agent. An MNG Airlines Airbus A330 freighter transported 59 tonnes of perishable cargo from Istanbul (IST) to Ouagadougou (OUA). The shipment required a constant temperature of between +15°C and +25°C. At the time of booking, the main challenge was the lack of JET A1 fuel at Ouagadougou Airport. CharterDesk worked with its fuelling contacts and assisted the airline in arranging fuel uplift in Burkina Faso on the planned flight date.

“Cargo charters are usually booked during emergency situations, such as the risk of a factory shutdown or, as could become a more pressing issue these days, a fuel shortage situation,” said Emir Ozdabak, Managing Director of CharterDesk.
