Awery appoints Marcangelo as Global Sales EVP

Awery Aviation Software has appointed Gianluca Marcangelo as Executive Vice President of Global Sales, strengthening its senior commercial leadership as the aviation software provider expands its global customer base.

Marcangelo brings more than 25 years of international air cargo experience, covering sales, marketing, operations, digital innovation and aviation software.

He has held senior leadership roles across airlines, cargo operators and aviation technology companies, including positions with Challenge Group and Oman Air.

“Air cargo is at a pivotal point in its digital transformation, as AI, greater connectivity, and standards such as IATA ONE Record change how companies operate and do business,” said Marcangelo.

Marcangelo said Awery combines agility, technology and industry expertise to translate digital transformation into practical commercial and operational benefits for customers. He added that he is working closely with customers and industry stakeholders to identify areas where technology can deliver the greatest impact, while expanding Awery’s global presence and supporting its next phase of growth.

Awery is targeting further growth across airlines, general sales and service agents (GSSAs) and charter brokers, while continuing to serve a diverse range of air cargo operators, including onboard courier (OBC) providers and e-commerce businesses.
