Alaska Airlines has appointed Wexco Cargo GSSA as its general sales agent (GSA) for the United Kingdom, marking a major step in the carrier’s transition into a global long-haul operator.

Starting in May 2026, Wexco, a subsidiary of the Kales Group B.V., will take the lead on all cargo sales, marketing, and customer engagement for the airline across the UK. The partnership is timed to support Alaska Airlines’ highly anticipated launch of daily nonstop services between London Heathrow (LHR) and its global gateway in Seattle (SEA).

The appointment follows Alaska Air Group’s recent merger with Hawaiian Airlines, a move that integrated widebody aircraft into the Alaska fleet and paved the way for international expansion.

Ian Morgan, Vice President of Cargo at Alaska Airlines said, “Working with Wexco gives us strong local representation as we introduce new long-haul services from London Heathrow. We are laying the groundwork for future growth, and we are already starting to see this take shape through our global expansion from Seattle.”

Wexco will utilise its advanced data suite to provide Alaska Airlines with real-time capacity visibility for freight forwarders, dynamic yield management to optimise revenue, and live reporting metrics to ensure operational transparency.

The London Heathrow service, set to begin May 21, 2026, will utilise Alaska’s newly delivered Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft. These flights will provide significant belly-hold capacity, connecting UK shippers to over 100 destinations across North America, Hawaii, and the Pacific region.

Beyond the UK, Alaska Airlines is also scaling its European presence with new routes from Rome, Italy, and Keflavik, Iceland, scheduled for mid-2026. These additions are expected to create a robust network of cargo flows between Europe and the U.S. West Coast.

“This new partnership reflects significant confidence in our ability to dynamically develop a fresh market entry and deliver a premium service offering,” said Des Vertannes, Managing Director of Wexco Cargo GSSA.
