AeroLogic boosts fleet with delivery of 25th B777 freighter

AeroLogic, the German cargo airline and joint venture between DHL and Lufthansa Cargo, has taken delivery of its 25th Boeing 777 freighter.
The aircraft registered as D-AALY, with manufacturer serial number (MSN) 68146, belongs to DHL Aviation and is operated by AeroLogic. According to Flightradar24 data, it was ferried from Everett (PAE) to Leipzig/Halle Airport (LEJ) between April 28 and 29.
Earlier, on April 6, AeroLogic received another Boeing 777 freighter, registered as D-AALX with MSN 68145. The aircraft was ferried to LEJ between April 3 and 4. Both aircraft are painted in DHL livery.
AeroLogic currently operates a fleet of 25 aircraft, all of which are Boeing 777 freighters. The next aircraft slated to join the fleet will be D-AALZ, with MSN 68147, which will also belong to DHL Aviation.
With the arrival of its 25th Boeing 777 freighter (D-AALY), Aerologic becomes the third-largest operator of this aircraft type, following Qatar Airways Cargo with 28 and FedEx, the leading operator, with 58.
DHL Aviation currently operates a fleet of 211 aircraft, comprising a wide range of freighter types. These include the Airbus A300-600F, A321-200F, A330-200F, and A330-300F, as well as ATR 42s and ATR 72s.
The fleet also features Boeing 737-300F, 737-400F, 737-800F, 747-8F, 757-200F, 767-200F, 767-300F, and 777F models. According to data from Planespotters.net, approximately 11 of the Boeing 777Fs are currently operated by AeroLogic.
The DHL Group recently announced a €2 billion investment over the next five years to strengthen its logistics capabilities in the life sciences and healthcare sector.
In January this year, AeroLogic appointed Marcus Niedermeyer as its new Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer. He will be responsible for overseeing finance, human resources, IT, and administration.
DHL also reported a 3% increase in revenue for 2024, reaching €84.2 billion, with €62.5 billion generated from international operations. Operating profit (EBIT) declined by 7% to €5.9 billion, though it remained significantly above the pre-pandemic level of €4.1 billion recorded in 2019.
