Lufthansa Cargo beefs up freighter services to Japan from Frankfurt

January 27, 2018: Lufthansa Cargo has recently stepped up its freighter services to Japan by adding two weekly freighters to Osaka, Japan.

The additional flights complement its existing daily freighter from and to Tokyo-Narita, besides Lufthansa passenger flights to Osaka-Kansai, Tokyo-Haneda, and Nagoya.

According to the company, the new route is being operated every Wednesday and Friday from Frankfurt via Novosibirsk to Osaka. It adds to a total of 80 weekly flights in and out of the country, which includes the belly capacity on Lufthansa passenger aircraft and its cooperation capacity with ANA Cargo.

“The new flights to Osaka will help us strengthen our position in Japan. It's an added investment into the key Japanese airfreight market,” said Frank Naeve, vice president Asia-Pacific of Lufthansa Cargo.

“We have a long-standing relations with customers in the Japanese air cargo industry since 1969. Our aim is to build on this relations and further expand in the future,” said Alexis von Hoensbroech, chief commercial officer of Lufthansa Cargo.
