Frankfurt Airport’s cargo throughput down by 28.5%

Frankfurt Airport, in its weekly report (April 13-19), reported that repatriation of passengers is largely completed. The airport saw high demand, compared to the same period last year, for freight capacities, as some airlines use passenger airplanes as freighter only aircraft. However, the report states a continued reduction of cargo throughput due to lack of belly freight of passenger aircraft.

Cargo (airfreight + airmail) flow saw a drop of 28.5 percent to 29,794 metric tonnes. Passenger traffic continues to perform dismally. With passenger traffic down by 97.3 percent, the airport saw passenger count of 37,015. Overall aircraft movement was down by 85.8 percent.
