DHL Express has appointed Sandeep Juneja as Senior Vice President for South Asia and Managing Director for India, effective November 1, 2026. He succeeds R. S. Subramanian, who is set to take over as Managing Director of Blue Dart.
In his new role, Juneja will focus on strengthening customer relationships, driving growth opportunities and supporting the company's long-term sustainable business growth across the region.
Juneja brings more than 30 years of professional experience, including over two decades with DHL Express, which he joined in 2004. He has been a member of the India Management Board since 2007 and has held several senior leadership positions across sales, marketing and commercial operations.
He took charge of the company's commercial function in India in 2013, gaining extensive experience in the domestic market and its key business growth drivers.
Ken Lee, CEO for Asia Pacific, DHL Express, said, “India and South Asia are among the most dynamic markets in our region, with significant opportunities for businesses to grow their international footprint and participate in global trade. Capturing that opportunity requires strong market knowledge, close customer relationships, and an organization that can translate ambition into sustainable growth. Sandeep brings all three. I look forward to seeing him build on that robust foundation and lead our business into the next phase of growth.”
The DHL Globalisation Tracker forecasts South and Central Asia to record the second-fastest trade growth between 2026 and 2029, behind only the Middle East and North Africa. India's trade agreements with the European Union, the UK, EFTA, New Zealand and Oman are also expected to create opportunities for businesses to diversify trading partnerships, build more resilient supply chains and support long-term growth. With its global network, international expertise and service capabilities, DHL Express aims to help businesses tap into these emerging opportunities. Under Juneja's leadership, the company will focus on deepening customer relationships, developing talent and maintaining the reliability and service standards expected by customers.
In his current position, Juneja has been instrumental in shaping DHL Express India's commercial strategy and strengthening its market presence. His responsibilities have covered customer development, strategic pricing, digitalisation, and identifying new avenues for growth, with an emphasis on profitability and customer value. His experience combines commercial expertise with a broad understanding of business operations and the ability to convert market opportunities into measurable results.
Sandeep Juneja, SVP-designate for South Asia and Managing Director for India, DHL Express, said, "It is a privilege to lead a business I have been part of for more than two decades. With India and Bangladesh among our Group's high-growth markets, there are significant opportunities for businesses to expand across the region. Building on R S Subramanian’s strong foundation, my focus will be on our customers, our people, and delivering sustainable growth and excellent service.”
In addition to India, Juneja will be responsible for overseeing DHL Express operations across Nepal, Bhutan, the Maldives, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
