Blue Dart appoints RS Subramanian as Managing Director

Blue Dart Express has approved the appointment of RS Subramanian as its Managing Director from November 30, 2026, to May 25, 2030, subject to shareholder and other applicable statutory approvals.

The company’s Nomination and Remuneration Committee, Audit Committee and Board of Directors approved the changes at meetings held on September 15, 2026.

Balfour Manuel, the company’s current Managing Director, has requested early superannuation effective from the close of business hours on November 29, 2026. The request was made to enable smooth succession and due to certain personal commitments.

The Board has approved a waiver of the six-month notice period applicable to Manuel. He will serve as Senior Strategic Advisor to the Managing Director until May 15, 2027.

Manuel will cease to be Managing Director and Director from November 29, 2026. He will also cease to be a director of Blue Dart Aviation, the company’s wholly owned subsidiary, from the same date.

Subramanian, 61, is currently the Senior Vice President for South Asia and Managing Director of DHL Express India. He is also a member of the DHL Express Asia Pacific Management Board and has more than 30 years of experience in product-led and service industries.

He joined DHL Express India as Head of Sales and later became Vice President of the South Asia Cluster, managing operations in Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, the Maldives and Bhutan. He was appointed Managing Director of DHL Express India in 2010.

Before joining DHL, Subramanian spent 14 years at Hindustan Unilever in sales, marketing and export management. He is a graduate in Industrial Engineering and holds a Master’s in Management from IIM Bangalore.

Subramanian was first appointed to the Board of Blue Dart Express on March 27, 2019, and is currently a Non-Executive Director of the company.
