IAG Cargo partners with CHAMP to digitize air cargo documents

IAG Cargo, the cargo division of International Airlines Group (IAG), has announced a strategic partnership with CHAMP Cargosystems to adopt the company’s latest artificial intelligence-powered document automation solution, CHAMP A2Z Scan. The move is aimed at accelerating IAG Cargo’s digital transformation and boosting operational efficiency across its global airfreight network.

The collaboration follows a successful trial phase, after which IAG Cargo officially rolled out CHAMP A2Z Scan, an AI and OCR-driven tool designed to convert traditional paper-based Air Waybills (AWBs) and related documents into structured digital formats. The tool is part of CHAMP’s broader Cargospot-neo platform, which focuses on next-generation cargo technology solutions.

By leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) and optical character recognition (OCR), CHAMP A2Z Scan enables the precise extraction of data from paper AWBs. This automation not only significantly reduces the time and manual effort associated with data entry but also helps minimize errors, streamline document handling, and enhance compliance with global digital standards.

A key element of the partnership is its customer-centric integration. IAG Cargo customers can now access the A2Z Scan functionality directly through the IAG Cargo portal via a Single Sign-On (SSO) login, ensuring a seamless and intuitive user experience as they transition from paper to digital documentation.
