FedEx has appointed Marshall Witt, former chief financial officer of TD SYNNEX, as senior vice president and chief financial officer of FedEx Freight, effective 15 October. Witt will join the company as it prepares for the separation of FedEx Freight into an independent business.

Witt brings extensive experience in finance, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate spin-offs, having led TD SYNNEX through significant revenue and EBITDA growth and overseeing its 2020 spin-off of Concentrix. He also spent 15 years at FedEx, most recently serving as senior vice president of finance and controller within FedEx Freight.

“Marshall’s extensive expertise in guiding companies through critical periods of transition to deliver profitable growth will unlock enterprise-wide value for FedEx Freight, its team members, customers, and stockholders,” said John Smith, president and chief executive officer–select of FedEx Freight.

The appointment completes FedEx Freight’s executive leadership team ahead of its spin-off. The leadership team also includes John Smith as CEO, R. Brad Martin as chairman of the board, Mike Rodgers as chief technology officer, Eddie Klank as chief human resources and legal officer, Mike Lyons as chief specialized services and commercial officer, and Clint McCoy as chief operating officer.

Witt expressed enthusiasm about his new role, stating he looks forward to working with the leadership team to grow FedEx Freight as an independent company and to deliver value for stockholders.
