Cathay cargo to offer real-time customs clearance
Customers to track crucial stages of the customs process, including whether a shipment is still pending or being assessed.

Cathay Cargo has become the first airline to offer customers real-time customs clearance updates through its digital platforms.
According to the press release, the new feature provides subscribers of the EzyCargo platform and customers with existing ONE Record API links to the airline’s system with instant visibility into their shipment's customs status.
The initiative, powered by tools within the EzyCargo suite developed by Cathay Cargo's innovation partner, is dubbed EzyCustoms. Its current scope covers clearance status from key customs authorities across Europe (via the ICS2 Import Control System), the United States, Canada, and the United Arab Emirates.
This standardisation allows customers to track crucial stages of the customs process, including whether a shipment is still pending or being assessed.
Permitted to load or has a 'do not load' status. Being held for inspection or has been fully released for collection at the destination.
Previously, obtaining this vital information relied on manual updates from ground-handling agents, often leading to delays in response. Providing independent, real-time access now allows customers to proactively take remedial actions or better manage supply chain delays caused by customs inspections.
“This extended ONE Record integration is currently available to Cathay Cargo customers who are subscribed to the EzyCargo platform, but this additional visibility will be integrated into the Cathay Cargo website for registered account holders in 2026,” said James Evans, General Manager of Cathay Cargo Commercial, .
