B&H Worldwide, a global leader in aerospace logistics, has successfully delivered an Airbus H145 helicopter from Zurich, Switzerland, to Auckland, New Zealand, on behalf of GCH Aviation. The aircraft is the first of four H145 helicopters arriving in 2025 as part of GCH Aviation’s multi-million-dollar investment programme to strengthen air rescue and emergency medical services across Canterbury, West Coast, Nelson, and Marlborough.

The project required B&H Worldwide to execute a highly specialised logistics solution. This included bespoke crating of the Airbus H145, freight forwarding, and strict biosecurity compliance to meet New Zealand’s entry regulations. The helicopter was transported aboard a Boeing 747 freighter via Frankfurt, Hong Kong, and Melbourne before landing safely in Auckland.

To ensure operational efficiency, B&H Worldwide developed multiple routing scenarios and engaged closely with international airline partners. This proactive planning allowed the logistics provider to secure the most reliable and cost-effective solution, ensuring the helicopter’s timely arrival.

Lee Hedges, Branch Manager – New Zealand at B&H Worldwide, noted, “This project demonstrates our capability in handling complex aerospace logistics. By managing the transportation, we enabled GCH Aviation to focus entirely on technical reassembly and operational readiness.”

Declan Smiddy, CEO of GCH Aviation, added, “The arrival of the Airbus H145 marks a pivotal moment in our mission to enhance life-saving services across New Zealand. The expertise of B&H Worldwide made this delivery seamless.”

Stuart Allen, Group CEO of B&H Worldwide, was present in Auckland during reassembly. He emphasised the strategic importance of the project, stating, “Deliveries of this scale highlight our role in ensuring mission-critical aerospace assets reach customers safely and reliably.”

With three additional Airbus H145 helicopters and a flight simulator scheduled for delivery later this year, this milestone underscores B&H Worldwide’s expanding footprint in rotary-wing logistics. It also cements the company’s partnership with GCH Aviation in supporting life-saving aviation services across New Zealand.
