Globe Air Cargo Dominican Republic, a subsidiary of ECS Group, has signed an agreement with Uniworld Air Cargo to support the launch of freighter operations between Punta Cana and Panama City, with onwards connectivity across Latin America and other markets.

The service commenced on March 23, 2026, and operates twice a week on Thursdays and Sundays using a Boeing 737 freighter with a weekly capacity of 40 tonnes. The operation is structured to handle general cargo, live animals, perishables, and outsize shipments.

The route links Punta Cana with Panama City and provides access to destinations including Bogotá, Caracas, Havana, San Salvador, Lima and San José. Additional connectivity through Mexico is expected to open further access into the United States and Canada through extended routing options.

The agreement positions ECS Group to deploy cargo solutions aligned with airline requirements, supported by its commercial and operational capabilities. The company said customers will gain access to capacity, booking flexibility and network reach through its digital and sales infrastructure.

Ivan Mejia, Managing Director of Globe Air Cargo Dominican Republic, stated: “Securing this agreement with Uniworld is a strong validation of our commercial agility and market expertise. This operation not only strengthens connectivity within the region but also unlocks new opportunities for our customers through reliable, high-frequency freighter capacity.”

Jossette Navarro, Commercial Director at Uniworld Air Cargo, added: “The Dominican Republic represents a market with significant growth potential for both exports and imports. Beyond its local strength, it is a strategic gateway to Europe and Canada. Through this partnership with ECS Group, we are confident in our ability to accelerate our market penetration while offering competitive and efficient cargo solutions across the region and into North America.”

The partnership expands ECS Group’s presence in the Americas and reflects its role in providing general sales and service representation for airlines. The company said the agreement supports airline partners in accessing new markets through structured cargo deployment and network integration.

ECS Group operates across 59 countries through a network of 181 offices and employs more than 1,700 people. The company provides sales, marketing and operational support to airlines in the air cargo sector.
