Cargologic, the long-standing ground handling partner of Swiss WorldCargo at Zurich Airport, has once again proven its commitment to excellence by receiving its second CEIV Pharma re-certification from the International Air Transport Association (IATA). This latest accreditation solidifies Cargologic’s continued leadership in high-quality pharmaceutical handling at the Zurich Hub and underscores its essential role in the global healthcare supply chain.

The CEIV Pharma certification—short for Centre of Excellence for Independent Validators in Pharmaceutical Logistics—is one of the most prestigious standards in the air cargo industry. Developed by IATA, the programme ensures that certified organisations meet the highest levels of compliance, safety, and efficiency in handling temperature-sensitive and time-critical pharmaceutical products.

Cargologic first achieved CEIV Pharma certification in 2015 and has now successfully completed its second re-certification, following its previous renewals in 2022. This milestone complements Swiss WorldCargo’s own CEIV Pharma re-certification, obtained most recently in 2024. Together, the two partners form a tightly integrated and highly certified cold chain operation, delivering secure and efficient services to pharmaceutical customers around the world.

The pharmaceutical sector places stringent demands on logistics partners—ranging from robust infrastructure and regulatory compliance to temperature control and product integrity. Cargologic’s continued certification demonstrates its ability to meet these expectations, with the company also holding GDP (Good Distribution Practice) compliance from Swissmedic since 2014.

“As global demand for safe and compliant pharmaceutical transport rises, this certification shows our processes are continually improving to meet those needs,” said Marco Gredig, Managing Director of Cargologic. “Working alongside Swiss WorldCargo, we are committed to delivering top-tier service and driving innovation in the air freight industry.”

Alain Chisari, Head of Swiss WorldCargo, praised the achievement: “We warmly congratulate Cargologic on their CEIV Pharma re-certification. It reflects their dedication to reliability and the key role they play in protecting the integrity of pharmaceutical shipments at Zurich Airport.”

As international regulations tighten and the need for reliable pharma logistics grows, Cargologic’s re-certification ensures Zurich remains a critical and trusted hub for global pharmaceutical transport.
