GEODIS Korea secures WHO GDP certification for pharma freight forwarding
GEODIS's GDP certification ensures its dependable, high-quality, and compliant pharmaceutical supply chain logistics across South Korea and the Asia Pacific.
GEODIS has reinforced its pharmaceutical logistics capabilities in the Asia Pacific region, specifically in South Korea, by securing World Health Organisation (WHO) Good Distribution Practices (GDP) certification for its freight forwarding services.
This achievement builds upon GEODIS Korea's existing CEIV Pharma certification, obtained in 2023. By meeting the highest international standards for quality and compliance in healthcare logistics, the GDP certification strengthens GEODIS's role as a reliable partner for pharmaceutical supply chains across South Korea and the wider Asia Pacific.
The certification highlights GEODIS's global commitment to being a trusted logistics partner for the healthcare sector, delivering compliant, innovative, and sustainable solutions in nearly 70 countries. In Asia Pacific, this aligns with the company's efforts to expand its certified network and resilient supply chain capacity to meet the growing needs of the regional healthcare industry.
GEODIS Korea provides a comprehensive suite of pharma logistics services, including strictly temperature-controlled freight forwarding across various ranges: +2°C to +8°C, +2°C to +25°C, and frozen to deep-frozen. These services utilise air, ocean, and road transportation modes.
The company's healthcare distribution center is strategically located within the Incheon Airport free trade zone, ensuring the compliant, smooth, and efficient movement of pharmaceutical products throughout the region.
“South Korea is a vital hub for pharmaceutical innovation and distribution, which comes with demanding requirements for quality and compliance,” commented Benoit Brulé, Managing Director of GEODIS Korea.
“Securing GDP certification was a necessary step to address these expectations and offer safe, dependable solutions to our clients. Our primary objective is to drive growth for our clients by ensuring operational excellence in every detail,” he added.
The GDP certification guarantees that GEODIS's distribution, handling, and processes adhere to global standards for the safety and integrity of pharmaceutical products. When paired with the CEIV Pharma certification, this offers customers a globally recognized assurance of both quality and compliance.
