Frankfurt Airport posts cargo decline in September

Oct 13, 2018: Frankfurt Airport (FRA) has seen cargo throughput (airfreight + airmail) decline by 1.4 percent year-on-year in September. 

However, an increase of 6.3 percent year-on-year was recorded in passenger traffic. The hub welcomed some 6.6 million passengers in the reporting month.

During the January-to-September 2018 period, almost 53.0 million passengers passed through Frankfurt Airport, representing a gain of 8.4 percent. 

Cargo volumes dipped only slightly by 0.8 percent year-on-year to about 1.6 million metric tonnes.
