Aerios boosts speed and accuracy in charter quoting

Aerios, a software provider for the air cargo charter industry and a member of CargoTech, has introduced an integrated approach to help charter sales teams generate faster and more accurate fuel and flight estimates during the quoting process.

The company said charter sales teams often face a trade-off between speed and accuracy when preparing quotes. Estimates are typically based on direct routing (DCT) and Great Circle Distance (GCD) calculations, which use simplified routing assumptions and can underestimate flight time and fuel consumption.

More detailed flight planning data can provide a more accurate assessment of routing, block time and fuel burn. According to Aerios, this approach can improve estimation accuracy by 10–15%, but traditionally requires sales teams to access multiple systems and coordinate manually with dispatch departments, potentially slowing down the quoting process.

Aerios has integrated its platform with three flight planning systems, Jeppesen ForeFlight, PPS, and Airbus NAVBLUE N-FP, to bring detailed flight planning information directly into the charter quoting workflow. The data includes aircraft performance, flight routing, weather and wind conditions, block time, and fuel burn.

The platform also combines fuel burn estimates with carrier-specific fuel prices to automatically calculate fuel costs, enabling sales teams to incorporate more detailed operational data into charter quotations while reducing manual processes.

Alongside detailed flight and fuel data, the Aerios Carrier App provides users with control over fuel pricing. Carriers can maintain contracted fuel rates, import updated supplier pricing through CSV files, and manually adjust prices when required.

Fuel-burn calculations remain an important part of charter quotations, particularly amid volatile fuel prices and fast-moving demand. Aerios said faster and more accurate quoting can give charter operators a competitive advantage.
