Kuehne+Nagel has secured an Aggregation Licence in the UAE, and complements a similar certification received by the company three years ago in Bahrain.

The licence, granted by the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP), allows Kuehne+Nagel to aggregate and manage pharmaceutical products and medical supplies entering the UAE market, according to a press release from Kuehne+Nagel. This certification enables the company to track and trace healthcare products, ensuring their authenticity and safety.

"All pharmaceutical products and medical supplies must be recorded and registered with the MOHAP before entering the United Arab Emirates' market to detect counterfeit and falsified drugs and track and trace illegal supplies of healthcare products," says Safa Al Khayat, Pharmacist in Charge, Kuehne+Nagel.

To streamline the aggregation process, Kuehne+Nagel has implemented advanced technology solutions. Automated aggregation stations, capable of scanning 75,000 barcodes daily, have replaced traditional manual methods, significantly improving efficiency and accuracy, says the release.

Lee I'Ons, GCC+ Cluster Managing Director, Kuehne+Nagel says: "Our healthcare customers can enjoy complete solutions from the basics of storage, handling, and last mile distribution to a full range of value-added services leveraging Kuehne+Nagel's global healthcare supply chain know-how. At the forefront of our approach in healthcare is that at the end of every supply chain is a patient."

The company's 50,000 sq.m warehouse in Dubai Logistics City, with a dedicated 30,000 sq.m of space for pharmaceuticals, is equipped with state-of-the-art cold storage and chambers to maintain optimal conditions for pharmaceutical products along with a range of value-added services, including co-packing, labeling, and customs clearance, the release added.

"Compared to the traditional scanning with a handheld scanner, our automated solution delivers efficiency and reliability, which is a critical feature for our customers," adds Al Khayat. "We can respond to the market's requirements immediately, with full transparency for all parties involved in the supply chain: customer, MOHAP, distributor, and the final consumer, the patient."
