The long-standing relationship between DHL and the FIA World Endurance Championship (FIA WEC) has taken a significant step forward with the announcement of a new multi-year agreement. Having served as the backbone of the championship's transport operations since its inception in 2012, DHL has successfully renewed its contract to remain the Official Logistics Partner. Crucially, the fresh deal broadens the scope of the collaboration to encompass the Asian Le Mans Series for the first time, whilst continuing to support the world-renowned 24 Hours of Le Mans. This expansion firmly cements DHL's position as the leading authority in navigating the complex demands of global motorsport logistics.

The extension arrives at a moment of unprecedented momentum for the FIA WEC, which has experienced rapid growth following the introduction of the premier Hypercar category. This shift has drawn a stellar lineup of automotive giants to the grid, including Alpine, Aston Martin, BMW, Cadillac, Corvette, Ferrari, Ford, Genesis, Lexus, McLaren, Mercedes, Peugeot, Porsche, and Toyota. Managing the intercontinental movement of assets for such a high-profile, diverse cohort requires an intricate operational blueprint, with the championship spanning key regions across Europe, North and South America, Asia, and the Middle East.

Behind the scenes, DHL bears the immense responsibility of orchestrating the transport of race cars, thousands of tyres, garage infrastructure, broadcasting gear, and alternative fuels. Across a standard season, the company handles logistics for a 36-car grid, utilising a smart mix of ocean and air transport that includes around 120 sea containers and up to seven dedicated aircraft charters for each intercontinental transition. A specialised team of motorsport experts manages these tightly scheduled movements, ensuring everything is delivered on time under immense pressure.

Furthermore, the partnership places a heavy emphasis on reducing the sport's environmental impact. To achieve this, DHL utilises biofuel-powered trucks and sustainable marine freight, aligning closely with the championship’s green initiatives. Speaking on the operational synergy, Felix Heger, CEO DHL Global Forwarding Germany & Switzerland, noted:

"With the strong growth of the FIA World Endurance Championship and the increasing number of manufacturers, precise and scalable logistics are becoming ever more critical. Our partnership demonstrates how we jointly create the conditions for peak performance, both on and off the track."

Echoing this focus on shared goals and green innovation, Frédéric Lequien, the CEO of the FIA World Endurance Championship, expressed his enthusiasm for the future:

"We are delighted to extend our successful relationship with DHL. As the FIA World Endurance Championship continues to grow, we count on the support of our trusted partners more than ever and DHL is truly an industry leader in logistics. Not only that, but as a global series, we have a duty to minimize our carbon footprint, and DHL wholeheartedly shares our commitment towards a more sustainable future. We look forward to continuing to work together closely over the years to come."

As part of the renewed contract, the DHL Sustainable Endurance Award will continue to be presented annually. This accolade celebrates the teams within the paddock that exhibit an exceptional commitment to sustainability, environmental management, and social responsibility, driving positive change across the entire motorsport community.
