Worldwide Flight Services, a SATS company, has begun handling cargo operations for Qatar Airways Cargo at Liège Airport, following the start of the contract on May 1, 2026. The agreement covers Boeing 777 freighter services operating to Liège from Doha and other international cargo markets, placing the airport within the airline’s network of cargo stations.

Under the contract, Worldwide Flight Services is providing ramp and warehouse handling for the airline’s freighter operations. The addition of Qatar Airways Cargo expands WFS’ airline portfolio at Liège, where it now supports 11 international carriers using the airport as a European hub for cargo and e-commerce flows. The development maintains WFS’ position at the airport based on cargo volumes handled.

“We are delighted to be serving Qatar Airways Cargo at another of the airline’s key international cargo stations and proud to be contributing to the growth of Liège Airport. At WFS, we are fully aware of the highest standards Qatar Airways expects for its customers. Being awarded another significant contract by the airline demonstrates our ability to consistently meet these requirements, and we hope this will lead to more growth opportunities across our respective global networks,” said Philippe Torry, Managing Director Belgium of WFS.

The contract comes as Liège Airport continues to report growth in cargo traffic. The airport recorded a 14 per cent increase in annual cargo volumes in 2025, reaching 1.32 million tonnes. This trend continued in the first quarter of 2026, with volumes rising 15.6 per cent year on year to 342,845 tonnes. Aircraft movements in the same period increased 7 per cent to 7,247, indicating sustained cargo activity at the hub.
