UPS has expanded its intra-Asia air network with new flights, faster delivery times, and additional cargo capacity to support businesses across Asia Pacific. The company announced the changes, detailing enhancements including five weekly Shenzhen–Sydney flights, one-day faster delivery times to Australia from Asia and Europe, and doubled capacity on the Hanoi–Shenzhen route.
The Shenzhen–Sydney service, now operating five times a week, provides more than four times additional capacity and reduces delivery time from China, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, South Korea, Thailand, and Vietnam to Australia by one day. Exports to Asia and imports from Europe will also arrive earlier.
UPS said the upgrades would give Australian businesses quicker access to critical goods such as pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and specialised components for machinery and automobiles.
On the Hanoi–Shenzhen route, larger Boeing 747 freighters have been deployed, doubling weekly cargo capacity to 570 tonnes. This allows UPS customers in Vietnam to benefit from next-business-day deliveries to China and Hong Kong.
“We continue to see strong momentum across Asia Pacific with intra-Asia trade staying resilient, even as businesses navigate an evolving global trade landscape,” said Wilfredo Ramos, president, UPS Asia Pacific. “UPS is helping its customers strengthen their supply chains through greater flexibility, faster delivery, and deeper regional connectivity. Our network is designed to give our customers the agility, reliability and assurance they need to grow confidently in a dynamic region.”
These developments follow UPS’s recent investments in Malaysia and Japan, where new facilities and expanded services have been introduced to strengthen cross-border connectivity. The company said it remains committed to building its smart global network to help customers optimise supply chains.
