Group Concorde named Vietjet Air Cargo GSA in Japan, Indonesia
The appointment will focus on sales, customer engagement and market development as Vietjet Air Cargo expands cargo connectivity through Vietnam.
Group Concorde has been appointed as the General Sales Agent (GSA) for Vietjet Air Cargo in Japan and Indonesia, effective August 2026. The appointment will see Group Concorde handle the airline’s commercial interests in both markets, supporting sales, customer engagement and market development.
Under the new partnership, Group Concorde will support Vietjet Air Cargo’s cargo growth strategy across the Asia-Pacific region. Japan and Indonesia are both significant contributors to regional air cargo volumes.
Praveen Narayanan, Vice President – Asia Pacific, Group Concorde, said the appointment reflects the trust placed in the company by Vietjet Air Cargo. He added that the teams in Japan and Indonesia will focus on dedicated service, stronger customer connections and identifying opportunities for cargo growth.
The partnership combines Group Concorde’s regional expertise, on-ground teams and airline representation experience with Vietjet Air Cargo’s growing network. It will provide shippers and freight forwarders in Japan and Indonesia with access to cargo capacity and connectivity through Vietnam to wider Asia-Pacific and international markets.
As part of its wider network expansion, Vietjet Air is set to launch three weekly direct flights between Ho Chi Minh City and Colombo from August 18, 2026. The service will establish the first scheduled direct air connection between Vietnam and Sri Lanka, with the Airbus A320 flights also providing an additional air cargo link between the two markets. The new route will allow cargo from Sri Lanka, including apparel, gems and time-sensitive shipments, to connect through Ho Chi Minh City to Vietjet’s wider network covering Australia, Japan, South Korea, China and Southeast Asia.
