Silk Way West Airlines and Azerpost have signed a memorandum of cooperation to expand postal and e-commerce logistics across Azerbaijan and international markets, marking a major step in improving cargo efficiency from a global perspective. The agreement was signed today at the headquarters of Silk Way Group.
According to the release, the two organisations will work together across international and domestic cargo delivery, mail sorting, warehousing and wider logistics optimisation. Their combined expertise aims to improve postal and cargo flows within Azerbaijan and worldwide.
Azerpost will use Silk Way West Airlines’ global network to move international e-commerce parcels and postal shipments to Baku and onwards. The airline will gain increased cargo volumes, while Azerpost will manage last-mile delivery, sorting and handling inside the country.
Both parties also plan to explore opportunities in the Alat Free Economic Zone. The first phase includes a fully automated 12,000-square-metre e-commerce terminal designed to handle all postal and e-commerce parcels and support large-scale regional logistics operations.
Vugar Mammadov, Vice-President of Silk Way West Airlines, said the partnership marks an important milestone in developing Azerbaijan’s postal and logistics connectivity and in expanding the airline’s e-commerce logistics capabilities. Isi Mustafayev, Acting Chairman of Azerpost, said the cooperation will enhance the efficiency and speed of international postal operations, enabling faster and more reliable delivery services in Azerbaijan and abroad.
Looking ahead, the two organisations expect to deepen their collaboration through new digital, operational and infrastructural projects, supporting Azerbaijan’s goal of becoming a central logistics hub linking East and West.
